philosophy of teaching

"If we teach today's students as we taught yesterday's, we rob them of tomorrow"

                                                                                                  - John Dewey

Teaching for tomorrow requires innovation, moving beyond yesterday’s methods. I believe learning is most powerful when students are active participants rather than passive recipients, constructing their own learning. My teaching philosophy is grounded in exploration, play, and challenge, where students learn by doing, questioning, and reflecting. Through game-based, inquiry-driven and a hands-on approach, I aim to engage learners deeply, support individual growth, and develop skills that extend beyond the classroom.

Art holds a vital place in education because it engages the whole learner in ways that are intellectual, emotional, and social. Through art, students develop transferable ways of thinking such as problem-solving, visual literacy, collaboration, and communication, alongside fine motor skills and cultural understanding. The art room becomes more than a place of making; it is a space for exploration, risk-taking, and meaning-making, where students are encouraged to express identity, test ideas, and transform experience into something both personal and beautiful.
